This narrow way

For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Submit Yourselves to the Authorities, Until…

“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.” 1 Peter 2:13.

This is God’s order for government. Punishing the evildoers and rewarding the righteous. Paul says much the same in Romans 13:1.

For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a servant of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.”

However, when government becomes so corrupt, so tyrannical, and so far from God’s prescribed directive that it flips this order on its head, praise and reward for those who do evil, and punishment for those who do good, government has forfeited its right to expect submission from Christians.

“But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge…Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men” Acts 4:19 and 5:29.

Where is such a government? Right here. Two cases in point. The first one in Philadelphia:

“A well-known pro-life author and sidewalk counselor was arrested in front of his children after the Department of Justice ordered a SWAT raid on his house for alleged violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, according to a report from LifeSiteNews.

Mark Houck, a father of seven, drove two hours to Philadelphia every Wednesday to speak outside of abortion clinics for six to eight hours at a time, his wife, Ryan-Marie Houck, told the outlet.

The FACE violation charge was thrown out this summer, but was somehow picked up by the DOJ, she said. Houck also described an incident in which her husband “shoved” a pro-abortion man away from his 12-year-old son after the man entered “the son’s personal space” and refused to stop hurling “crude… inappropriate and disgusting” comments at the Houcks.

The man did not sustain any injuries but did try to sue Houck.

On Friday morning, Houck’s rural home was raided by 25 to 30 armed FBI agents, who pounded on the door and yelled at the family to open it, his wife said.

Mark Houck pleaded with the FBI agents before opening the door, telling them “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.”

The agents continued to yell, and when the door was opened, they pointed their guns at the Houcks while instructing the children to go upstairs, according to Ryan-Marie. “The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic,” she said.

The FBI agents proceeded to put Houck into a vehicle and when his wife asked if they had a warrant, she said that they replied that “they were going to take him whether they had a warrant or not.”

Sounds like something right out Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia, but it’s happening right here in what used to be the land of the free.

Then on February 9 an FBI memo was leaked which calls for the surveillance of what it called “Radical Traditionalist Catholics” who the DOJ has deemed as domestic terrorists and a threat to national security because of their adherence to white supremacist and anti-LGBTQ ideology, and not being nice to abortion activists.

“To further surveil “Radical-Traditionalist Catholics,” the document says the Bureau may potentially mitigate this “threat” with “tripwire and source development,” which means further infiltration into Catholic communities using various kinds of informants. The report also implies the FBI will begin monitoring social media posts for what it claims is “Radical-Traditionalist Catholics” ideology.”

The memo has since been retracted. Funny how that happens when the public finds out what they’re up to. Not scary enough already? It gets worse. This “further infiltration” came up in a Senate hearing on Wednesday when AG Garland was questioned about so-called informants planted in Catholic churches. He, of course being the good little totalitarian that he is, denied any such spies were being placed in churches. However:

“While Garland may profess ignorance about the matter, an abundance of circumstantial evidence indicates that the FBI indeed has informants in Catholic churches, as well as a variety of other religious institutions.

For starters, the FBI does have a program to embed informants in churches, congressional offices, the media and other “sensitive” institutions—as Headline USA has previously reported.”

So be careful what you say or who sits next to you at church. It just might be an FBI snitch looking to add your name to the terrorist watch list.

In my opinion, a government that sends fully armed SWAT teams to the house of pro-life advocates, that targets Catholics as domestic terrorists, and that sends spies into churches, meanwhile showing leniency and in some cases downright refusing to prosecute rioters who were burning down cities during the summer of 2020, has given up its right to be subjected to or respected in any way. I stand with Peter, John, and Joshua.

“Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge…But as for me and my house, we’ll serve the Lord.”
